Swiss Army Backpacks with Wheels
The E-Motion Story
Your back is curved...why
isn't your backpack?

Our solution, the E-Motion 360™ collection (the "E" is for Ergonomic)
goes where no other collection of wheeled travel bags has gone
before...a true marriage of the convenience of wheel and handle
systems with the performance and comfort of ergonomic pack technology.
Key Features: Wheeled Collection
Whether rolling, carrying or wearing an E-Motion, the performance and
comfort benefits of the bag's breakthrough technology and design are
dramatic. This revolution in adventure travel gear design is due to
three innovative, systems, all developed with human anatomy and
mechanics as inspiration.
Mono-Pole Spine and Response™ Swivel Handle
System
When your arm hangs freely, your palm faces your side. Our Response
swivel handle (pat. pending) is the first to allow a travel bag or
pack to be rolled in the natural "palm facing the body" position,
ending the twisting and unsteady rolling that comes from other bags
that force the traveler to roll in the unnatural "palm perpendicular
to the body" position.
Our curved, telescoping mono-pole handle "spine" (pat. pending)
follows the natural curve of the wearer's back, eliminating the
uncomfortable gaps between the pack and wearer's body to provide a
remarkably comfortable fit. The one pole system is lighter than
traditional two-pole systems, helping to reduce the weight of all
E-Motion 360 wheeled packs, duffels and travel bags.
Suspension System
The human body can comfortably support the weight of a well-loaded
pack, but only if the pack's weight is appropriately distributed. Our
innovative suspension system correctly distribute's 2/3rds of the
pack's load to the body's sturdy hip structure with a thickly padded,
contoured lumbar belt and 1/3rd of the weight to the shoulders via a
padded shoulder strap harness that is curved to maintain a continuous
interface across the shoulders.
Torsional Response Back Panel
As you move, your torso twists, bends and flexes. If a pack doesn't
form to the shape of the wearer's back and move in concert with the
wearer's motions, traveling quickly becomes a drudgery. We present two
ergonomic solutions to this challenge:
1) An anatomically-inspired back panel rib system, made of
compression-molded high density foam to follow the curves of the
wearer's back for a close, comfortable fit. The padding is allows the
back panel of the bag to twist in response to the wearer's movement
for unmatched performance and the nylon fabric wicks moisture away
from the wearer for dry, comfortable traveling.
2) The bottom of the mono-pole spine is secured to the bag by a ball
and joint pivot unit, which allows the entire spine of the bag to
twist and flex in response to any bending or twisting by the wearer.
As a result, the wheeled pack remains close to the wearer's body and
moves in unison with any movement for optimal performance and comfort,
especially during rigorous activity.

Key Features
As you examine the
details of these diagrams, please note that some features only apply
to certain bags. Check the product name listed after each feature to
ensure that the feature in question is part of your bag.
1. Response™ swivel handle (All wheeled Bags):
The Response swivel handle automatically rotates into a natural
holding position when rolling.
2. Telescoping Mono-poleSpine (All wheeled

back. Made of the same lightweight and durable anodized aluminum used
in bicycle frames, the mono-pole delivers outstanding fit and
performance.
3. Quick attachment strap (Trek Pack Plus
only): The quick attachment strap allows easy attachment or
removal of the docking bags.
4. Self-healing YKK™ zippers (All wheeled

instantly repaired if they become separated.
5. Locking zipper sliders (All wheeled bags):
Secure all valuables by passing a lock through the locking sliders on
the main packing compartment.
6. To and side haul handles (All wheeled bags):
Cushioned nylon web handles provide multiple ways of carrying and
lifting all E-Motion 360º™ bags.
7. Compression straps (All Trek Packs, except
the 20" Trek Pack): Compression straps condense the pack's load
for greater stability when carrying and conserve space while flying,
storing, etc.
8.In-line Skate Wheels (All wheeled bags):
Large 80mm in-line skating wheels contain ball bearings to ensure a
smooth and stable roll.
9.Feet (All wheeled bags): Durable
plastic feet on the bottom of each bag are angled to provide a stable
base when the bag is in the standing position.
10. Fabric type (All wheeled bags):
All bags feature fabrics that are both durable and attractive. All
fabrics are moisture-, puncture- and abrasion -resistant nylon.
11. Load Lifters (Trek Pack and Gear Pack Bags
only): Load lifters allow the wearer to adjust and secure the
load close to the body, greatly enhancing comfort and performance.
12. Shoulder straps (Trek Pack and Gear Pack
Bags only): Padded, flame-laminated shoulder straps are
contoured to the wearer's shoulders for ideal weight distribution and
comfort.
13. Sternum strap (24" and26" Trek Pack and 24"
and 26" Gear Pack Bags only): Web strap connects the two
shoulder straps over the wearer's sternum when carrying, increasing

perfectly formed to the natural shape of the wearer's back for
unmatched fit, comfort and performance when carrying.
15. Waistbelt (Trek Pack and Gear Pack Bags

approximately two-thirds of the pack's weight over the wearer's pelvic
area.
16. Tie-down Straps (All wheeled bags):
Internal elastic tie-down straps hold packed items in place for better
organization and a more stable load.
17. Saddle pockets (All wheeled bags, except
20" Trek Pack, Gear Packs and Gear Bags): Large, internal side
saddle pockets provide additional storage compartments.
Wearing Your Wheeled
Backpack
(All Trek Pack and
Gear Pack Bags)
For ideal fit, comfort and performance, follow the below steps each
time you wear your pack.
- Be sure the mono-pole handle is in a fully closed
(non-extended)

position.
- Unzip the back panel to reveal the lumbar belt
and shoulder harness system, then fold and store the fabric zip-away
panel (as described in the
Converting Your Bag).
- Loosen the shoulder straps, load lifter straps
and lumbar belt straps
- Put the pack on.
- Adjust the lumbar belt until it fits comfortably
on top of your hips, then tighten until the belt fits snugly around
the hip area
- Tighten the shoulder straps by pulling on the
loops located at the bottom front of each shoulder strap. Pull loops
until the pack fits snugly against your back and shoulders.
- Pull the load lifter straps until the pack feels
as if it is up against your body and in balance.
- Clip the sternum strap and adjust the tension
until the pack fits snugly around the upper chest (24" and 26" Packs
only).
- Load the pack and hit the trail!
Choosing the Correct Size
of Wheeled Pack
(All Trek Pack and
Gear Pack bags)
Proper weight distribution is the key to comfort. The ideal
distribution is about one-third of the weight on the shoulders and
two-thirds on the hip crest (see diagram below), the body's strongest
load-bearing area. The E-Motion 360º™ suspension system allows the
wearer to easily achieve this ideal shoulder-to-hip weight ratio.
Determining Your Torso Length
The E-Motion 360º™ wheeled backpacks and duffels are available in four
sizes: 20", 22", 24" and 26". The ideal bag size is determined by the
length of the wearer's torso. Using a flexible tape measure, have
someone measure the length from your seventh cervical vertebra (the
vertebra that sticks out the most on the back of your neck when you
tilt your head slightly forward) to the last vertebra, which is on a
horizontal line between the outward protru sion
of your hip bones. Be sure to stand up straight while taking this
measurement. Using this measurement, refer to the chart below to
select your size.
Torso Length Bag Size
Up to 17 inches 20" inch bag
17 to 19 inches 22" inch bag
19 to 21 inches 24" inch bag
21 and up 26" inch bag
Please remember, this sizing procedure is a general guideline. Try on
the pack or duffel and give it a "test drive" walk, twist, bend, etc.
to determine if it feels comfortable to you.
Attaching & Removing the
Docking Bag
(Trek Pack Plus
bags only)
All Trek Pack Plus bags come with a convenient daypack "docking" bag,
which quickly detaches for short day trips or other casual uses.
To attach your Daypack Docking Bag (or other Docking Bag), follow
these steps:
Place the docking bag directly on the front panel of the main wheeled
bag. Be sure to line up the webbing loops on the daypack with the
Compression Straps on the wheeled bag;
 |
 |
 |
| 1: Un-buckle each of the
compression straps on main wheeled bag. |
2: Separate the velcro
tab and thread through the webbing loop on the day pack. |
3: Re-attach the velcro
tab and the compression strap. |
Using the Velcro tabs for attachment, instead of just the compression
straps, allows you to access your main pack without having to remove
your docking bag. Note: Follow these same steps when attaching Lumbar
Docking Bag and Shoulder Tote. Tuck the backpack straps into the back
storage pocket so the straps will not drag after docking bag is
attached. As an alternative to the compression strap attachments, the
quick attachment strap can be used for quick transformation in towing.
This strap is used for intermittent use of the Docking Bag in the
rolling formation.
Unpacking and
Packing the Shoulder and Lumbar Suspension
System .
Our suspension system – lumbar belt and shoulder harness – is
concealed in a zippered compartment when rolling the bag. To convert
your E-Motion 360º pack or duffel to a backpack, follow these simple
steps:
 |
 |
 |
|
1: Completely unzip the
back panel, bringing the zipper all the way around the perimeter
of the bag;
|
2: Lay the fabric back
panel down flat as shown;
|
3: Fold the fabric panel
into thirds, as shown;
|
 |
 |
 |
|
4: Fold the panel in half,
as shown;
|
5: Fold the panel in half
again and tuck it into the center bottom opening of the bag,
which is secured by a Velcro™ closure; and
|
6: Pull out the lumbar
belt and shoulder harness.
